Our focus and commitment is ...
To create dance/theatre that engages with particular communities in order to contemplate impacts on our environment.

'Embody' is an exciting new platform supported by DANZ and the Wellington Dance Festival to bring the best of contemporary dance to Wellington audiences.
This performance, presented in a studio setting, will provoke the heart and the mind.

Three dances from four exceptional dancers, featuring Juliet Shelley, Lyne Pringle, Lucy Margaux-Marinkovich and Anita Hunziker.
Acoda is a new dance piece choreographed and performed by Juliet Shelley with live music by violinist Chris Prosser. Acoda takes inspiration from the 9 Star Ki, an ancient Chinese system of divination and astrology, the music of Rhian Sheehan, the poetry of Pablo Neruda and Antonio Machada and and the giant mandala compass at Wellington train station. Ten international artists have contributed choreographic source material for Acoda.
“Fascinating and mesmerising”

Lung Tree has been through many incarnations since choreographer and dancer, Lyne Pringle, spent 3 months tree hugging at the Pah Homestead. This solo channels the language of trees into the body, to give the audience a visceral sense of connection and hope. Lung Tree is a dance for all the tree huggers in the world and for the people who have not yet been privy to their language.  It is dedicated to the elegant creators of our atmosphere. Lyne Pringle is the total package, the supernova of dancing environmental
political statement and of solo performance.” Theatreview Tempo 2014

Life! Death! Prizes! is the first choreographic collaboration between Anita Hunziker and Lucy Marinkovich; it premiered at Tempo 2014 as an excerpt from the full-length show. Life! Death! Prizes! is a choreographic manifesto reflecting on our mutual experiences of friendship, failure and gratification. The dichotomies of falling down and holding yourself together are abstractly explored.  “ . . . an authentic experience of life's messiness” NZ Herald

This will be an exceptional evening of a dance and an opportunity to get up and close with the works in an intimate staging. Emerging choreographers Anita Hunziker and Lucy Marinkovich are graduates of the NZ School of Dance and former celebrated members of Footnote New Zealand Dance. Lyne Pringle and Juliet Shelley are Wellington based dance artists renowned for their unique brand of dance.

Lung Tree in Auckland for Tempo.

It was a great pleasure to take a solo version of Lung Tree to Auckland and to share a programme with other artists: Carol Brown, Zahra Killeen-Chance, Merenia Gray and Julia Mag'eau Gray.
3 totara and 3 puriri were given away to audience members. Next up, creating another garden bed for our community garden in Carrara Park.
